UAV aircraft "Phantom Ray"

Boeing is developing an unmanned aircraft (UAV) that is invisible to radar. The project is called the Phantom Ray.

The Phantom Ray is scheduled to be demonstrated in December 2010. The craft will be tested for 6 months on reconnaissance test missions.

The project is being sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which has contributed $942 million.

The Phantom Ray will be capable of performing bombing, reconnaissance and mid-air refueling missions. All of this by itself without anyone sitting in the cockpit.
